This morning's beautiful walk through the Heath reminded me of something I wrote in Prajna. "I often come across trees and stop and observe for a minute to marvel at their incredible trunks, a mass of shaded tubes that wind around each other like serpents as they travel from the ground up to the branches of the tree, so intricate and beautiful and ancient that they transport me to another era. There's something majestic and sacred about trees. And then, like Shiva's dreadlocks and matted hair, a multitude of tangled ropes hang from the branches and float in mid air, making their journey back to the ground. I imagine these trees of life, blissfully living century to century, seeing gods and kings and Buddhas and people come and go, filled with vibrations of meditations and thoughts, fulfilling wishes and storing energies. Each one a universe of stories and history." ~ pg115 of my book #Prajna. I also wrote about the word yugen in Japan for that feeling of mystery and awe in nature; the expanse of nothingness or shunyata in Sanskrit; and the concept of mushin or mindlessness in Zen Buddhism. Being present, entirely immersed and connected to nature, to ourselves. Some Sundays just leave you feeling high... this was one of them. Walking, lunch, ice cream and laughter. Lots of love x . #sunday #longwalk #beautifulday #trees #theheath #happiness #worldmentalhealthday #autumn #zen #yugen #shunyata #shiva thank you for the pic @anjlivyas x
